Título :	Mathematical anxiety and professional profile: Case study of a municipality in the department of Santander (Colombia) in the year 2020. Ansiedad matemática y perfil profesional: Estudio de caso de un municipio del departamento de Santander (Colombia) en el año 2020.

Descripción :	The objective of this study is to characterize the relationship between mathematical anxiety and the professional profile of a group of high school students in the department of Santander (Colombia) in the year 2020. A cross-sectional investigation was carried out with 121 students from an educational institution that agreed to participate in the study. The following instruments were applied: the Abbreviated Scale of Mathematical Anxiety and the Inventory of Professional Preferences for Young People. The estimation and analysis of the variables associated with the mathematical anxiety of the participants was done using a bivariate logistic regression model with a confidence level of 95% and precision of 5%. According to the results obtained, it is possible to rescue two manifest phenomena: first, the significant association between mathematical anxiety and social personality (p> 0.05), observing that the presence of the former increases the probability of an inclination towards social personality in 62% (95% CI 0.007-0.580). Second, the presence of mathematical anxiety increases the probability of having an entrepreneurial personality by 7 times (high; 95% CI 1.18-7.65). There is a relationship between math anxiety and the characteristics of the social and entrepreneurial personalities, indicating that those who lean towards the social personality are more likely to present math anxiety, while those who tend towards the entrepreneurial personality are less likely to present said phenomenon. El presente estudio tiene como objetivo caracterizar la relación entre la ansiedad matemática y el perfil profesional de un grupo de estudiantes de secundaria en el departamento de Santander (Colombia) en el año 2020. Se llevó a cabo una investigación de corte transversal con 121 estudiantes de una institución educativa que aceptaron participar del estudio. Se aplicaron los siguientes instrumentos: la Escala Abreviada de Ansiedad Matemática y el Inventario de Preferencias Profesionales para Jóvenes. La estimación y análisis de las variables asociadas a la ansiedad matemática de los participantes se hizo mediante un modelo bivariado de regresión logística con un nivel de confianza de 95 % y precisión de 5 %. De acuerdo a los resultados obtenidos es posible rescatar dos fenómenos manifiestos: en primer lugar, la asociación significativa entre la ansiedad matemática y la personalidad social (p> 0,05), observando que la presencia de la primera aumenta la probabilidad de una inclinación hacia la personalidad social en un 62% (IC 95% 0,007- 0,580). En segundo lugar, la presencia de ansiedad matemática incrementa en 7 veces más la probabilidad de tener una personalidad emprendedora (alta; IC 95% 1,18- 7,65). Existe una relación entre la ansiedad matemática y las características de las personalidades social y emprendedora, indicando que quienes se inclinan hacia la personalidad social tienen más probabilidad de presentar ansiedad matemática, mientras quienes tienden hacia la personalidad emprendedora tienen menos posibilidades de presentar dicho fenómeno.
