Descripción :	The article presented below aims to show, in an organized way, the beginnings of the accounting profession and the transformation of this terminal formation to a preparation by propaedeutic cycles, which allows the student to continue with higher studies without any impediment; Approaches that are coupled with the need to strengthen the competencies of the IAS - IFRS and the second language as a way to achieve access to a better labor supply and raise the quality in the training of accountants.  El artículo que se presenta a continuación tiene como objetivo mostrar de una forma organizada, lo inicios de la profesión contable y la transformación de esta formación terminal a una preparación por ciclos propedéuticos, que le permite al estudiante continuar con los estudios superiores sin impedimento alguno; planteamientos que se unen a la necesidad de fortalecer las competencias de las NIC – NIIF y el segundo idioma como una forma de lograr el acceso a una mejor oferta laboral y elevar la calidad en la formación de contadores.
