| dc.description | This work is a case study of the statue of Pedro de Valdivia located in the city of Temuco with the purpose of understanding its meaning, the dispute over interpretation and what this image represents from the perspective of multiculturalism and social representations. This has an emotional and symbolic meaning, being projected in the public space. The dispute over interpretation refers to the fact that a social group questions the statue of Pedro de Valdivia, whose meanings are questioned both individually and collectively, favoring the cultural integration of society with a resignification of the object. Objectification and anchoring allow transforming the abstract and strange into concrete and familiar, as well as incorporating meanings and new symbolisms on the statue. | en-US |
| dc.description | El presente trabajo es un estudio de caso de lo ocurrido con la estatua de Pedro de Valdivia ubicada en la ciudad de Temuco, con el propósito de comprender su significado, la disputa por la interpretación y lo que representa dicho ícono desde la perspectiva de la multiculturalidad y las representaciones sociales. Esta tiene un significado emocional y simbólico que se proyecta en el espacio público. La disputa por la interpretación se refiere a que un grupo social interpela la estatua de Pedro de Valdivia, cuyos significados son cuestionados tanto a nivel individual como colectivo, favoreciendo la integración cultural de la sociedad con una resignificación del objeto. La objetivación y anclaje permiten transformar lo abstracto y extraño en concreto y familiar, como también incorporar significaciones y nuevos simbolismos sobre la estatua. | es-ES |
