In the philosophical tradition, language constitutes a fundamental problem. In recent years, there are two philosophical schools that have made substantial progress with respect to the understanding of language, analytic philosophy and philosophical hermeneutics. In the present text an examination of these two currents is carried out and it is shown that this examination opens a possibility for the understanding of human rights and the importance of protecting fundamental values ​​such as freedom, equality, peace, tolerance, justice and others, immersed in the Political Constitution of western countries.En la tradición filosófica, el lenguaje constituye una problemática fundamental. En los últimos años, se han dado dos corrientes que han hecho avances substanciales con respecto al entendimiento del lenguaje: la filosofía analítica y la hermenéutica filosófica. En el presente texto se lleva a cabo un examen de estas dos corrientes y se muestra que este examen abre una posibilidad para la comprensión de los derechos humanos y la importancia de proteger valores fundamentales como la libertad, la igualdad, la paz, la tolerancia, la justicia y otros, inmersos en la Constitución Política de los países occidentales.
