With the return of the Jesuits to the country, toward the end of the nineteenth century, the conservative sociability and the new Catholic devotions facilitated the resurgence of the Congregation of the Good Death in Bogotá. This association sought to prepare the souls of devotees through a good life that guaranteed the good death under the model of St. Joseph. This research delves specifically on the branch of ladies and young ladies of the congregation, to investígate and expose the strategic practices developed by the directors of the institution to keep its participants interested, between 1884 and 1911 in the capital of the country. Likewise, the present study identifies the possible motivations of the devotees to join the list of congregations, according to the imaginary and representations detected in their context, facilitating towards the end of the research a contrast of strategic practices institutional with the tactical practices deployed by some of them that led them to evade the commitments of the congregation.
