Cancun is the most important tourist pole in the Mexican Caribbean and whose unexpected evolution attracted thousands of immigrants, particularly a group of migrants of Yucatecan origin, to build and inhabit this city. Faced with the demands of tourism in the new generations of Yucatecan migrants, this work is intended to discuss the relationship that keeps tourism in the professional life of these young people who study and work in tourist areas. The information analyzed under a study of ethnographic cut corresponds to young university students, whose professional training deals with tourism and whose parents are originating in the state of Yucatán. From a reflection on flexible work and “docile bodies” among leisure workers, the incursion of these young people into the workforce is analyzed as a new work force for tourism, called “braceros of leisure”.Cancún es el polo turístico más importante del Caribe mexicano y cuya evolución inesperada atrajo a miles de inmigrantes, particularmente a un grupo de migrantes de origen yucateco, para construir y habitar esta ciudad. Ante las exigencias de la actividad turística en las nuevas generaciones de migrantes yucatecos, en este trabajo se pretende discutir la relación que guarda el turismo en la vida profesional de estos jóvenes quienes estudian y laboran en ámbitos turísticos. La información analizada bajo un estudio de corte etnográfico corresponde a jóvenes universitarios, cuya formación profesional versa en turismo y cuyos padres son originarios del estado de Yucatán. A partir de una reflexión sobre el trabajo flexible y “cuerpos dóciles” entre los trabajadores del ocio, se analiza la incursión de estos jóvenes en el ámbito laboral como nueva fuerza de trabajo para el turismo, denominados como los “braceros del ocio”.
