Descripción :	The study presents a critical analysis on the justification for the implementing and expanding public services offered on the Internet, the so-called “Electronic Government” (e-Gov). It shows current subjects such as the virtual citizenship and the digital inclusion program, and puts them in confront to the e-Gov directives and the indicators issued by the Brazilian Internet Steering Committee Group (CGI). The discussions are based on the Guy Debord’s theses, which enhance the critical view of Society of the Spectacle process of the citizenship. O artigo apresenta uma análise crítica das justifi cativas para implantação e expansão dos serviços públicos oferecidos pela Internet, o chamado “Governo Eletrônico” (e-Gov). Discute temas atuais como cidadania virtual e inclusão digital, confrontando-os com as diretrizes do e-Gov e indicadores publicados pelo Comitê Gestor da Internet no Brasil (CGI). As discussões desenvolvidas têm como base as teses de Guy Debord, que estimulam a visão crítica do processo de espetacularização da cidadania.
