dc.descriptionThe article examines the insertion of content from the French magazine L’Illustration in the fictional narrative of O Retrato, the second part of the novel O tempo e o vento, by Erico Verissimo. In the process of creation of his work, the author uses this magazine as a source of consultation for the early twentieth-century historical representation. The transposition of news about the play Chantecler, by Edmond Rostand, as well as the passage of Halley’s comet, legitimizes the realistic aspects of the period, causing reflections on the ethics of the characters and on the aesthetics of the fiction.en-US
dc.descriptionO artigo estuda a inserção de conteúdo da revista francesa L’Illustration na narrativa ficcional de O Retrato, segunda parte do romance O tempo e o vento, de Erico Verissimo. No processo de criação da obra, o autor utiliza essa revista como uma fonte de consulta para a representação histórica do início do século XX. A transposição de notícias sobre a peça de teatro Chantecler, de Edmond Rostand, bem como as que tratam da passagem do cometa Halley, legitima os aspectos realistas do período, provocando reflexos na ética dos personagens e na estética da ficção.pt-BR
