Descripción :	The fact that something has already been said before, elsewhere and independently, determining the primacy of interdiscourse over discourse and of the other over the self, is a postulate established within the language studies, mainly from the perspective of Discourse Analysis. I assume this principle and propose to examine what it may explain regarding the social beliefs that support a 24-second fragment of the film Kaspar Hauser, anchoring the turns of speech that happen in it. Based on the analysis carried out, I also seek to precise the effect of meaning of mother in the movie and therewith to understand her representation in the film. Que algo fala antes, em outro lugar e independentemente fixando a primazia do interdiscurso sobre o discurso e do outro sobre o mesmo é um postulado estabelecido nos estudos da linguagem, principalmente sob a ótica da Análise de Discurso. Assumo, pois, esse princípio e me proponho a verificar o que ele permite elucidar sobre as crenças sociais que sustentam um fragmento de 24 segundos do filme Kaspar Hauser, ancorando os turnos de fala que acontecem nele. Procuro, ainda, a partir da análise realizada, precisar o efeito de sentido que mãe adquire no filme e, com isso, compreender a imagem feita dela na película.
