Descripción :	The present work has as study object the transformations in the use of the signs in the artistic production, highlighting some specific historical moments of the plastic arts, as form of exemplifying the proposal idea. The technologies of the communication enter in focus as propelling of new incentives to the artistic production of the century XX. A parallel among the two areas is drawn through the Semiotic Theory, in which the sign concept is defined, making possible to accompany the transformations happened in the use of this, from the creation of machines capable to reproduce it, until the present time, when he can be invented without attention to references. Starting from this, we looked for to understand as the technologies of the communication allied to the diversified artistic production and, committees were responsible for changes in our aesthetic perception. O presente trabalho tem como objeto de estudo as transformações na utilização dos signos na produção artística, destacando alguns momentos históricos específicos das artes plásticas, como forma de exemplificar a ideia proposta. As tecnologias da comunicação entram em foco como impulsionadoras de novos estímulos à produção artística do século XX. Um paralelo entre as duas áreas é traçado por meio da Teoria Semiótica, na qual o conceito de signo é definido, possibilitando acompanhar as transformações ocorridas na utilização deste, desde a criação de máquinas capazes de reproduzi-lo, até a atualidade, quando ele pode ser “inventado” sem atenção a referências. A partir disto, buscamos compreender como as tecnologias da comunicação aliaram-se à produção artística diversificada e, juntas, foram responsáveis por mudanças na nossa percepção estética.
