| Descripción : | The article explains the theorist postulates of the “greimasian” semiotic through practical illustration of a short narrative (The big lion and the girl, by J. Kessel) in which the fundamental, narrative and discursive levels of the grammar are explored, showing the tension between the dysphoria of an imminent catastrophe and the euphoria of victory that involved the three subjects of the performance: a terrified man, a savannah lion and a tamer girl.

O artigo exemplifica os postulados teóricos da semiótica greimasiana a partir da ilustração prática de uma narrativa curta (O grande leão e a rapariguinha, de J. Kessel) na qual se exploram os níveis da gramática fundamental, narrativa e discursiva, mostrando-se a tensão entre a disforia de uma catástrofe iminente e a euforia da vitória, que premia os três sujeitos envolvidos na performance: um homem aterrorizado, um leão de savana e uma menina adestradora.
