Descripción :	The article describes and analyzes the meanings of living in families living in a gated community in the city of Río Ceballos, in the province of Córdoba (Argentina), within the framework of the political and economic transformations of the last twenty years. With this purpose, we take up an ethnographic work carried out to account for the diversity of practices and meanings that the inhabitants display and build in and on the place where they live. In this way, we analyze the ways in which families, through the meanings they give to their practices (around the "neighborhood", "nature" and "security") articulate various forms of sociability, distinctions and belongings social. The article shows the importance of understanding these and other related issues, since it allows us to shed light, in an exploratory way, on the practices and representations that the inhabitants display in the use and appropriation of the environment. Likewise, it brings us closer to the knowledge of the socio-territorial patterns that regulate the occupation of this portion of the Cordoba suburban space. El artículo describe y analiza los sentidos del habitar desplegados por familias que residen en un barrio cerrado en la ciudad de Río Ceballos, de la provincia de Córdoba (Argentina), en el marco de las transformaciones políticas y económicas de los últimos veinte años. Con este propósito, retomamos un trabajo etnográfico 2 realizado para dar cuenta de la diversidad de prácticas y sentidos que los habitantes despliegan y construyen en y sobre el lugar donde viven. De esta manera, analizamos los modos en que las familias, a través de los sentidos que otorgan a sus prácticas (en torno a lo “barrial”, la “naturaleza” y la “seguridad”) articulan diversas formas de sociabilidad, distinciones y pertenencias sociales. El artículo muestra la importancia de la comprensión de éstas y otras cuestiones conexas, ya que nos permite echar a luz, de modo exploratorio, sobre las prácticas y representaciones que los habitantes despliegan en el uso y apropiación del entorno. Asimismo, nos aproxima al conocimiento de los patrones socioterritoriales que regulan la ocupación de esta porción del espacio suburbano cordobés.
