Descripción :	Cuando Japón se abrió al mundo a mediados del siglo XIX, su percepción del mundo y de ellos mismo cambió. Al observar a los países de Europa occidental, se percataron de la necesidad de avanzar en un mundo cada vez más moderno, porque de no ser así, corrían el riesgo de desaparecer frente a las potencias. Este impulso hizo que Japón emprendiera su carrera hacia la modernidad y centró sus esfuerzos en la ciudad de Tokio, la nueva capital de su imperio. Con el transcurso de los años, esta ciudad fue creciendo en tamaño y se adaptó a los nuevos sistemas modernos implementados por medio de políticas. El gobierno se encargó de llevar a Tokio hacia los más altos estándares de modernidad que el mundo conocía, incrementando su ego como el más grande imperio asiático de la modernidad. El orgullo del imperio japonés que dominaba casi todo el Pacífico, se derrumbó cuando su mayor triunfo, Tokio fue bombardeada en la Segunda Guerra. When Japan opened to the world in the middle of the 19th century, its perception about the world and about them changed. By observing the western European countries, they realized the need of developing in a world that was advancing rapidly; if they were left behind, the thread of disappearing would be quite imminent. All these situations caused a fast modernization of the young Japan, and the majority of their efforts were located in the new capital of the empire, Tokyo. With the pass of the years, the city grew in size and was able to adapt to the new modern systems applied by some governmental policies. The government took Tokyo to the next step of modernism and that made their ego to grow as the biggest modern empire in Asia. However, the proud of the Japanese Empire crumbled during the WWII, when their most treasured triumph, Tokyo was destroyed. Historiador (a) Pregrado
