Descripción :	The article tries to reinstall the question of the technical Kowledge in the scene of the contemporary Work Social. The text provides references historical-philosophical about the technique subject and the debates that have been generated on the topic. From these references it characterizes the operative knowledge in the Social Work and problematizes his relevancy, to conclude that the pertinent use of operative knowledge can contribute to revert situations of absence of sense and significance of the profession and of the people with whom it operates, and also to also to legitimize the professional and scientific speech. This text is the result of the research work realized by the authoress who recovers the professional and teaching experience that has developed around the participative techniques of intervention applicable to the popular education and the Social Work. El artículo pretende reinstalar la cuestión de los saberes técnicos en el escenario del Trabajo Social contemporáneo. El texto proporciona referencias histórico-filosófico respecto a la consideración que ha ameritado la técnica y los debates que se han generado sobre el tema. A partir de estas referencias, caracteriza los saberes operativos en el Trabajo Social y problematiza su relevancia, para concluir que la utilización pertinente de saberes operativos puede contribuir a revertir situaciones de falta de sentido y significado de la profesión y de la gente con la cual opera, y también a legitimar el discurso profesional y científico. Este texto se inscribe en la tarea investigativa realizada por la autora, en la cual recupera la experiencia profesional y docente que ha desarrollado en torno a las técnicas participativas de intervención aplicables a la educación popular y el Trabajo Social.
