dc.descriptionDeficiencies in nutrition have a negative effect in learning in children in scholar age. One of these nutrients is iron, since it has several functions in the construction of brain structures and connections. It is estimated that the iron dietary deficiencies are persistent around the world. These deficiencies generate learning deficits, evidenced in the academic results of children, principally in areas like mathematics, verbal learning, attention and memory. It is needed to study the relationship between ferropenic anemia and the results in the cognitive development tests.en-US
dc.descriptionDeficiencias en la alimentación tienen un efecto negativo en el aprendizaje en niños en edad escolar. Uno de los nutrientes esenciales en el desarrollo cognitivo es el hierro, dado que tiene diversas funciones en la construcción de estructuras y conexiones cerebrales. Se estima que, en el mundo, persisten las deficiencias dietarias de hierro. Estas deficiencias generan déficits de aprendizaje, evidenciados en los resultados académicos de los niños, especialmente en áreas como matemáticas, aprendizaje verbal, atención y memoria. Se hace necesario estudiar la relación entre la anemia ferropénica y los resultados en los test de desarrollo cognitivo. es-ES
