| Descripción : | The article analyzes on a general level the historic path of soccer in Guatemala, ElSalvador and Costa Rica since the beginning of its practice - in the late 19th century— to the middle of the 20th century. Likewise, it attempts to explain why soccer inthe two first countries failed to transmit a feeling of national ownership, and why inCosta Rica it obtained an important place in the imaginary collective one, mainly inthe Valle Central. El artículo analiza a un nivel general la trayectoria histórica del fútbol en Guatemala,El Salvador y Costa Rica desde los inicios de su práctica —a finales del siglo XIX—hasta mediados del siglo XX. Asimismo, pretende explicar por qué el balompié en losdos primeros países no logró transmitir un sentimiento de pertenencia nacional, ypor qué en Costa Rica obtuvo un lugar importante en el imaginario colectivo, principalmente en el Valle Central. |
