Descripción :	The present issue of Cadernos de Sociomuseologia brings together a set of texts from the perspective of education, participation and heritage in the field of museology. The texts presented deal with museum and educational processes, museum education and heritage education, in museums, museum institutions and other spaces of memory and culture. The discussions presented here are based, for the most part, around two axes. First, specific case studies, providing an overview of different initiatives, which have a vision of heritage whose support is in the participation of communities, both in the definition and in its uses. In another aspect, investigations are presented that deal with broader facets of heritage, such as accessibility, participation and ways of recognizing and approaching diversity. All these themes, however, converge to a broad perspective, which recognizes heritage and its uses, by individuals and institutions, from a comprehensive conception of participation, which seeks partnerships and has its support in the desires and challenges of the communities where these heritages are inserted. The idea of ​​social participation of the communities involved and the search for a social function that gives meaning to the existence of museums and museological institutions are one of the bases shared in these researches, and some of the main paths that Sociomuseology has followed, with great interest, throughout of its trajectory. O presente número dos Cadernos de Sociomuseologia reúne um conjunto de textos sob a perspectiva da educação, participação e patrimônio, na área da museologia. Os textos apresentados versam sobre processos museais e educativos, educação museal e educação patrimonial, em museus, instituições museológicas e outros espaços de memória e cultura.  As discussões aqui apresentadas são alicerçadas, em sua maioria, em torno de dois eixos. Em primeiro lugar, estudos de casos específicos, perfazendo um panorama de iniciativas diversas, que tenham uma visão de patrimônio cuja sustentação esteja na participação das comunidades, tanto na definição quanto nos seus usos. Em outro aspecto, são apresentadas investigações que versem sobre facetas mais abrangentes do patrimônio, como a acessibilidade, a participação e as formas de reconhecer e abordar a diversidade. Todos estes temas, entretanto, convergem para uma perspectiva ampla, que reconhece o patrimônio e seus usos, por indivíduos e instituições, a partir de uma concepção abrangente de participação, que busca parcerias e tem sua sustentação nos anseios e desafios das comunidades onde estes patrimônios estão inseridos. A ideia da participação social das comunidades envolvidas e da busca de uma função social que dá sentido à existência de museus e instituições museológicas são uma das bases compartilhadas nestas pesquisas, e alguns dos principais caminhos que a Sociomuseologia tem trilhado, com muito interesse, ao longo de sua trajetória.
