Descripción :	In the following work I propose an analysis of the role played by languages -in the double sense of the word: as a mobile muscular organ and as a communication system- and the process of cultural re-connection between the Welsh Colony and the Tehuelche and Mapuche peoples, in the novel Tucuras (2014) by Gustavo De Vera. On the one hand, language understood as a constructor of subjectivity in the face of an "other", delimiting linguistic, social and territorial borders; on the other hand, language as a transgressor of those same borders imposed by the speaking community. Welsh, English, Mapuchezungun, Spanish and Tehuelche live together, relate to each other and understand each other in a space that is far from being an untamed and silent desert. At the same time, the intercultural relations established between the diverse cultures that inhabit the Patagonian territory in the novel, are crossed by a third factor: National Government (1878-1885) that devastates and erases, literally and symbolically. Each character in Tucuras delimits his own social and linguistic borders, while finding the way to relate and communicate. Language transgresses these boundaries in the same way that the wind does through the wire. En el siguiente trabajo propongo un análisis del papel que juegan las lenguas —en el doble sentido de la palabra: como órgano muscular móvil y como sistema de comunicación— y el proceso de religación cultural entre la colonia galesa y los pueblos tehuelche y mapuche, en la novela Tucuras (2014) de Gustavo De Vera. Por un lado, la lengua, entendida como constructora de subjetividad frente a un “otro”, delimita fronteras lingüísticas, sociales y territoriales; por otro, la lengua como transgresora de esas mismas fronteras impuestas por la comunidad hablante. El galés, el inglés, el mapuchezungun, el español y el tehuelche conviven, se relacionan y se entienden en un espacio que lejos está de ser un desierto indómito y silencioso. Al mismo tiempo, las relaciones interculturales que se establecen entre las diversas culturas que habitan el territorio patagónico en la novela se ven atravesadas por un tercer factor: el Estado nacional (1878-1885) que arrasa y borra, literal y simbólicamente. Cada personaje de Tucuras delimita sus propias fronteras sociales y lingüísticas, al mismo tiempo que encuentra el modo de relacionarse y de comunicarse. La lengua transgrede estas fronteras del mismo modo que lo hace el viento a través del alambrado.
