Título :	The proclamation ceremonies of European monarchs in the 21st century: informative frames in the Spanish general press Las ceremonias de proclamación de los monarcas europeos en el siglo XXI: encuadres informativos en la prensa generalista española

Descripción :	The main objective of this research is to analyse the proclamation ceremonies of European monarchs during the 21st century in the Spanish general press from the framing perspective, in order to understand the frames of a news report by section and the frames with respect to protagonists, actants, actions, symbology and settings. On the methodological basis of textual and graphic content analysis, we selected a sample composed of 190 pieces belonging to the journalism genre, that were published on the date of the celebration and the three days before and after, extracted from the newspapers: El País, ABC and La Vanguardia. In the report referring to foreign monarchies, the predominant frame in each respective paper corresponds to the Society/People/Living and International sections, in similar percentages, while the proclamation of Felipe VI, in ABC and El País is included in the National/Spain section, and in La Vanguardia in the Politics section. As for the actants and actions, the proclaimed monarch accompanied by his family becomes the main image; waving, posing and gazing outwards. Likewise, his symbolic link with the national flags appears repeatedly. In the scenographic framework, undefined spaces stand out; there are hardly any religious scenes (except in Monaco) and among those identified, the following stand out: street, Parliament and the Royal Palace. In conclusion, ABC lends greater relevance only to the ceremonies of Spain, the Netherlands and Luxembourg, coinciding the three newspapers with homogeneous and predictable news coverage, which proposes a stereotypical image marked by the tradition of these events. El objetivo principal de la investigación es analizar las ceremonias de proclamación de los monarcas europeos durante el siglo XXI en la prensa generalista española, desde la perspectiva del framing, para conocer los encuadres informativos por sección y los marcos noticiosos respecto a protagonistas, actantes, acciones, simbología y escenarios. Sobre la base metodológica del análisis de contenido textual y gráfico, se selecciona una muestra compuesta por 190 piezas pertenecientes al género informativo, publicadas en la fecha de celebración más los tres días anteriores y posteriores, y extraídas de los diarios: El País, ABC y La Vanguardia. En las informaciones referentes a las monarquías extranjeras el encuadre noticioso predominante se corresponde con las secciones Sociedad/Gente/Vivir e Internacional, en porcentajes similares, mientras que en la proclamación de Felipe VI, en ABC y El País se incluye en sección Nacional/España, y en La Vanguardia en sección Política. En cuanto a los actantes y acciones, el monarca proclamado acompañado de su familia se convierte en la imagen principal saludando, posando y mirando. Asimismo, aparece de forma reiterada su vínculo simbólico con las banderas nacionales. En el marco escenográfico sobresalen los espacios indefinidos, apenas hay escenarios religiosos (excepto en Mónaco) y entre los que se identifican destacan: calle, Parlamento y Palacio Real. Como conclusión, ABC dota de mayor relevancia solo a las ceremonias de España, Países Bajos y Luxemburgo, coincidiendo los tres diarios con un tratamiento informativo homogéneo y previsible, que ofrece una visión estereotipada marcada por la tradición de estos eventos.
