dc.descriptionThe article presents the results of a research conducted with 15 parents of the National Pedagogical University Nursery School, in which it was asked about the meanings that the participants have built on being parents and the way in which they are assuming their role in the setting of affective processes with their children.  To do this we developed an in-depth interview and a home visit, with an approach between what is said to be done and what is actually done in daily life. About the meanings of being a parent, it is marked the interest of the participants for making a difference in their parental role with respect to the manner in which their progenitors did, for this reason they show themselves more communicative, affectionate and closer with their children, demonstrating in this way a greater involvement in parenting, and perceived themselves as authorities, examples and caregivers among others. en-US
dc.descriptionEl artículo expone los resultados de una investigación desarrollada con 15 padres de la Escuela Maternal de la Universidad Pedagógica Nacional, en la que se pregunta por los significados que sobre el ser padre han construido los participantes y la manera en que están asumiendo su rol en la configuración de procesos afectivos con sus hijos. Para ello se desarrolló una entrevista a profundidad y una visita a los hogares, lográndose un acercamiento entre lo que se dice que se hace y lo que realmente se hace en la cotidianidad. Acerca de los significados sobre el ser padre, es marcado el interés de los participantes por hacer la diferencia en su rol paterno respecto a la manera en que lo ejercieron sus progenitores, por ello se muestran más comunicativos, afectuosos y cercanos con sus hijos, demostrando de esta modo un mayor involucramiento en la crianza y percibiéndose así mismos como autoridad, ejemplo, cuidador, entre otros.  es-ES
