dc.descriptionIn Mexico, the Higher Education Assessment is one of the functions of the Interinstitutional Committees for the Evaluation of Higher Education (CIEES for the acronym in Spanish). These evaluation committees have the labor of granting official recognition to academic units or specific programs, in the case that they meet the criteria and conventionally established quality standards. This labor of recognition is carried out by the committees along with other tasks, such as: the diagnostic evaluation of such programs, providing advice to higher education institutions and the timely judgement over the specific programs or projects from these institutions. Evaluating an educational program with level 1 is the public recognition of its quality, that is, it constitutes the guarantee that said program meets a certain set of quality standards. It is therefore important to consider all categories and indicators to achieve and to maintain the accreditation of an educational program. The Social Service is an indicator of quality included in the evaluation processes of educational institutions, so its relevance must be included in the curriculum. en-US
dc.descriptionEn México la Evaluación de la Educación Superior es una de las funciones de los Comités Interinstitucionales para la Evaluación de la Educación Superior (CIEES). Estos Comités de evaluación tienen como función el reconocimiento que puede otorgarse a las unidadesacadémicas o programas específicos, en la medida que satisfagan criterios y estándares de calidad convencionalmente establecidos. Esta función de reconocimiento, la desempeñan los comités junto conlas otras tareas, como son: la evaluación diagnóstica de los mismos programas, la asesoría a las instituciones de educación superior y la dictaminación puntual sobre los programas o proyectos específicos de estas instituciones. La evaluación de un programa educativo con el nivel 1, es el reconocimiento público de su calidad, es decir, constituye la garantía de que dicho programa cumple con determinado conjunto de estándares de calidad. Por lo que es importante considerar todas las categorías e indicadores para lograr y mantener la acreditación de un programa educativo. El Servicio Social es un indicador de calidad incluido en los procesos de evaluación de las instituciones educativas por lo cual su relevancia debe estar incluida en el plan de estudios.es-ES
