Descripción :	Cayetano Córdova Iturburu was elected as one of the representatives of the Association of Intellectuals, Artists, Journalists and Writers to participate in the II Congress of Anti-Fascist Writers, to be held in July 1937; an occasion that led him to embark a few months before the event on the ship Florida with the objective of serving as a war correspondent in Spain for the newspaper Crítica. This article analyzes the journey of this writer as a correspondent and examines his chronicles which later were turned into a book, while exploring the archive Córdova Iturburu (CeDInCI) and some anti-fascist publications in which the writer collaborated. It is on the hypothesis that the few chronicles published in Crítica reveals a series of tensions between the communist militancy of Córdova Iturburu, his status as a writer and the demands of the mass press. Cayetano Córdova Iturburu fue elegido como uno de los representantes de la Agrupación de Intelectuales, Artistas, Periodistas y Escritores para participar en el II Congreso de Escritores Antifascistas, a realizarse en julio de 1937; una ocasión que lo llevó a embarcarse unos meses antes del evento en el vapor Florida con el objetivo de desempeñarse como corresponsal de guerra en España para el diario Crítica. El presente artículo analiza el viaje de este escritor como corresponsal a partir del examen y cotejo de sus crónicas y su posterior pasaje a libro, al tiempo que se explora el Fondo Córdova Iturburu (CeDInCI) y algunas publicaciones antifascistas en las que colaboró el escritor. Se parte de la hipótesis de que las escasas crónicas publicadas en Crítica revelan una serie de tensiones entre la militancia comunista de Córdova Iturburu, su condición de escritor y las exigencias de la prensa masiva.
