Título :	Liberation Theology in Latin America and in Iran: A Truly Transglobal and Transmodern Project La Teología de la Liberación en América Latina y en Irán: un verdadero proyecto transglobal y transmoderno

Descripción :	This article proposes to carry out a comparative study of Liberation Theology movements in Latin America and Iran. The purpose will be to underline the similarities between these theological movements through the works of Gustavo Gutiérrez, a Peruvian theologian and Ali Shariati, from Iran. We will study their innovative interpretations of the religious concepts of Christianity and Islam, as well as the causes and consequences of these movements in their respective regions in the 1960s-80s. Furthermore we will discuss how these theologians –while grounding their teachings on their religions– utilize Marxist categories to interpret and transform their socio-political realities. The article argues that these movements show significant possibilities of being true transmodern and transnational projects of liberation, based on the theoretical framework proposed by Global South theorists like Enrique Dussel (Philosophy of Liberation). Este artículo procura realizar un estudio comparativo de la Teología de la Liberación en América Latina y en Irán. Se intentará destacar los parecidos de estos movimientos teológicos a través de las obras de Gustavo Gutiérrez, un teólogo peruano, y de Ali Shariati, un socio-teólogo iraní. Estudiaremos las interpretaciones novedosas de los conceptos religiosos de cristianismo e islam y las causas y consecuencias de estos movimientos en sus regiones durante los años 1960-1980. Se examinará cómo estos teólogos, mientras basan su predicación en sus religiones, recurren a las categorías marxistas para interpretar y transformar las realidades socio-políticas de sus regiones. El artículo muestra que estos movimientos podrían haber sido proyectos trasmodernos y trasnacionales de liberación, basándose en el marco teórico propuesto por los pensadores del sur global como Enrique Dussel (filosofía de liberación).
