dc.descriptionAfrica se configura como un gran mosaico de culturas en donde la diversidad lingüística coincide con la variedad musical. En un momento en el cual nuestra sociedad occidental se caracteriza por un cúmulo de corrientes artísticas, estilos, técnicas y estéticas dispares -amén de otros factores como la economía o los medios de comunicación, que impulsan y condicionan especialmente la vida-, es extraordinario pensar que, simultáneamente, existen lugares en donde la música tradicional se encuentra todavía vigente, es decir, que se practica a diario, que no ha perdido aún su función original y que está en interacción permanente con la vida, siendo parte esencial de ésta. Por esto, lejos de considerarlas "exóticas" o "primitivas" y sin cometer el error de incorporar o atribuirse estas músicas tradicionales como un descubrimiento más a añadir al enriquecido patrimonio cultural de occidente -puesto que su realidad es aquella y no ésta-, acudir a las fuentes en donde son practicadas y tener la posibilidad de realizar trabajos experimentales sobre el terreno, puede considerarse como un auténtico privilegio, además de una experiencia musical y humana fabulosa.es-ES
