En este artículo se exponen avances de la investigación sobre la relación entre la identidad cultural y la apropiación y uso de la tecnología y las plataformas tecnológicas en el campo del arte digital cubano. Este estudio, en sus inicios, buscaba abordar el tema de la identidad cultural en relación con la innovación tecnológica en el campo artístico, centrándose en el trabajo de los artistas visuales de Cuba que realizan arte digital, y en sus conceptualizaciones de revolución, identidad nacional y desarrollo local. La idea original buscaba contribuir a la discusión iniciada con el triunfo de la Revolución Cubana en 1959, sobre el significado de la cultura revolucionaria en el campo artístico. Se planteó la utilización de un enfoque antropológico que involucrara trabajo de campo, entrevistas, y etnografía digital sobre el trabajo de los artistas, y aún tiene la intención de ser una investigación colaborativa y crear significados en conjunto con los artistas entre otros participantes.This article presents advances in research on the relationship between cultural identity and the appropriation and use of technology and technological platforms in the field of Cuban digital art. In its beginnings, this study sought to address the issue of cultural identity in relation to technological innovation in the artistic field, focusing on the work of Cuba's visual artists who make digital art and their conceptualisations of revolution, national identity, and local development. The original idea sought to contribute to the discussion that began with the triumph of the Cuban Revolution in 1959 on the meaning of revolutionary culture in the artistic field. The use of an anthropological approach involving fieldwork, interviews, and digital ethnography on the artists' work was proposed, and it is still intended to be collaborative research and create meanings together with the artists among other participants.
