I conoclasm , P erformance and T he o pacITy of p resence . In Literature, it has been stated that the notion of per- formance is articulated together with creation of pres - ence . I intend to explore and deepen in this constitutive and essential concept. This defense of presence defies a widely rooted concept in some social theories and perspectives in the Area of Humanities, according to which interpretation identification and attribution of meaning must be its central practice, or even its exclusive right. From classic examples of iconoclasm, I am interested in emphazising how effect-of-presence and effect-of-meaning interweave.
