| dc.description | El trabajo examina el proceso teórico-argumental y discursivo que condujo a la declaratoria de la Independencia absoluta el día 5 de julio de 1811 en el seno del Congreso Constituyente de ese año. Para ello reviso, por una parte, la afirmación que desde el siglo xix se ha venido sosteniendo en relación con ese hecho, esto es, que ella fue lograda gracias a la presión ejercida por la Sociedad Patriótica de Caracas, afirmación que no se ajusta al proceso de liberativo que tuvo lugar durante la época; y, por la otra, evalúo la secuencia argumental y temática sobre el hecho de la Independencia que llevó a la respectiva declaratoria.Radicals or faint-hearted? The declaration of absolute Independence as a theoretic-discursive action (1811)AbstractThis essay examines the theoretic-disputatious and discursive process that gave rise to the declaration of absolute Independence on the 5th of July of 1811 at the site of the Constituent Congress. On the one hand, the affirmation upheld since the XIX century in relation to this event, indicating that it was achieved thanks to the pressure exerted by the Patriotic Society of Caracas, an assertion that does not concur with the deliberative process taking place at that time, is analyzed. And, on the other hand, the disputatious sequence and issues regarding the event of the Independence that led to the respective declaration are assessed. | es-ES |
