dc.description	Las intervenciones humanitarias han creado un vínculo entre el respeto a los derechos humanos y la práctica internacional. En este contexto la precisión del concepto de soberanía adquiere especial importancia. Se concibe como un elemento inherente a la condicióndel Estado, interpretándose como la autoridad absoluta que mantiene sobre su territorio. En abordajes recientes por parte de los teóricos que han estudiado el Cuarto Debate en la disciplina de las relaciones internacionales- el cual se caracteriza por analizar los enfoques de carácter epistemológico que renuevan los desarrollos cognitivos en esta área—, se ha asumido ala soberanía en términos de cómo funciona, más que su significado preciso. Las intervenciones humanitarias indican generalmente una violación a la soberanía,sin embargo, pueden ser necesarias y justificadas cuando se trate de regímenes que violan los derechos humanos, como es el caso de Sierra Leona, que conllevó un cuestionamiento acerca de la capacidad estabilizadora de la Organización de las Naciones Unidas.AbstractHumanitarian Interventions have created a liaison between respect for human rights and international practice. In this context, the accuracy of the concept of sovereignty gains significance. It is conceived as an element inherent to the condition of the state and is construed as the absolute authority of the latter overits territory. Recent theoretical analysis —in light of the Fourth Debate on International Relations, which is knownfor its study of the epistemological approach to cognitive development in this area— has embraced sovereignty in terms of its function over its precise definition. Humanitarian interventions generally entails a violation of human rights; never theless, it may be justified in relation to regimes infringing human rights, such as Sierra Leona, which gave rise to questions relating to the stabilizing capacity of the United Nations.	es-ES
