| dc.description | El trabajo estudia el consenso político que se construyó en Venezuela durante el lapso 1984-1989, el cual permitió aprobar las reformas para descentralizar el federalismo centralizado imperante en el país desde principios del siglo XX. Federalismo, centralización y descentralización son categorías políticas que han formado parte de la estructuración del estado venezolano. Este estudio muestra como, durante el período 1984-1989, actores pertenecientes a diversos partidos y grupos sociales, se movilizaron para alterar o mantener el cuerpo centralizado del estado. No era un suceso aislado; en América Latina, desde finales de los años setenta, se dinamizaron fuerzas centrífugas y centrípetas que pugnaban alrededor del poder estatal.Political consensus to decentralize Venezuelan centralized federalismAbstractThis article studies the political consensus forged in Venezuela from 1984 to 1989, which enabled approval of amendments aimed at decentralizing the centralized federalism existingin the country since the beginning of the twentieth century. Federalism, centralization and decentralization are political categories that may be deemed part of the structuring process of the Venezuelan state. This study shows how form 1984 to 1989 actors from different parties and social groups have sought to alter or maintain the centralized body of the state. This, however, was not an isolated movement in Latin America. Since the late 1970’s, centrifugal and centripetal forces gained dynamics and struggled around the power of the state. | es-ES |
