dc.description	This article focuses on the “Discovery” and “Conquest” of America as a process of transformation. Going beyond the commonplace accounts that prevail in its historiography and that connect the colonization of America with looting and destruction, what we suggest is an experience of global force that ends up transforming the world and thus questioning the very notion of what is “Colonial”. Here, the experience of the trip to America, together with the movement of people, ideas and products between the two Atlantic shores will be the central characters that define the gradual transformation of an old world into something completely new.	en-US
dc.description	Este artículo presenta una reflexión en torno al “descubrimiento” y la “conquista” de América, presentándolos como un proceso de transformación. Más allá de los lugares comunes que relacionan la colonización de América con el saqueo y la destrucción, y que han sido predominantes dentro de la historiografía, lo que se evidencia aquí es una experiencia de corte globalizante que termina transformando el mundo, aspecto que de paso cuestiona la noción misma de “lo colonial”. La experiencia relacionada con el viaje hacia América, sumada al tránsito de hombres, ideas y productos entre las dos orillas atlánticas, serán aquí protagonistas, al definir la transformación paulatina de un viejo mundo en algo totalmente nuevo.	es-ES
