This essay is a reflection on the documentary "The Chilean building", as a corpus of study, that through a biographical code collectivizes the particular memory of a girl left by her parents in Cuba, so they could return to the armed resistance that fought against Chile's dictatorship. Two generations are faced who disengage from de public narration domain and deepen in the private aspects: how did the decision of leaving their children on behalf of a revolution that was never won influence the lives of these adults, and how was the experience of abandonment for these children. The parents go beyond the heroe-victim dyad and, -through their descendant's memories-, become human in all their magnitude.
