"Contemporary spaces for artistic creation, whose end isthe recovery of cultural roots and heritages, make evidentthe role intelectuals play in the construction of emergingidentities in global and deterritorialized contexts.Odantalan, a musical creation and improvisationworkshop realized in Luanda (Angola), is without a doubt,one of these spaces. The objective of this workshop is tostrengthen a cultural identity through the encounter withthe musical and symbolic legacy of the bakongo peoplethat are reproduced in the new world. This paper exposesthe etnographic exercise realized in Odantalan.
