dc.description	The efforts to define Social Work by professional activity have emphasized the searching of specificity as the only way to define it as a discipline. The work carried out by the movimiento de reconceptualización and the impossibility to define a pre-established object, conducted to conclude that the Social Work has got not an object of study, but has an object of intervention that at the same time becomes in an object of knowledge. This paper develops some argumentative lines in order to understand the object of disciplinary study. We argued the necessity to defend the close relationship between Social Work and other Social Sciences. That is why the article differentiates between social analysis and professional intervention showing the strong relation between the last one and the positivist understanding of social reality. We conclude that the Social Work cannot be defined by intervention concept and defend that disciplinary work must be oriented to production of scientific knowledge of critical social sciences.	en-US
dc.description	Los constantes esfuerzos por definir al Trabajo Social por el hacer y no por el ser han enfatizado la búsqueda de la especificidad de un objeto propio de la profesión que lo defina como disciplina. Los esfuerzos realizados por la reconceptualización y la imposibilidad de definir un objeto preestablecido, condujeron a la conclusión de que el trabajo social no tiene objeto de estudio sino objeto de intervención que es al mismo tiempo objeto de conocimiento. En el presente trabajo se plantean las principales líneas argumentativas respecto a lo que se ha denominado el objeto de esta disciplina, con el fin de defender la estrecha relación que une al Trabajo Social con las demás Ciencias Sociales. Imprimiendo una diferenciación entre análisis social e intervención señalando el estrecho vínculo de este término con la concepción positivista de lo social. El Trabajo Social no puede definirse en función de la intervención y no debe encontrarse animado a la búsqueda de un conocimiento exclusivo, de una teoría propia sino a la producción de conocimiento científico de las Ciencias Sociales Críticas	es-ES
