dc.description	This text presents the tensions and discrepancies of the ordinary jurisdiction in regards to the special indigenous jurisdiction, which was acknowledged by the Colombian State -through the Political Constitution of 1991- as the proper way to set, administer and apply justice in the diverse indigenous contexts in the country. The author invites us to deeper understand the meanings of the meanings of the millenary justice practices, its strengths and weaknesses, the moments of interaction with ordinary justice and the conflicts with military justice, so that we can move forward towards a relationship with greater respect and understanding of the organizational life of the communities.How to reference this article: Velasco Sánchez, Nelson Marino, "Equilibrar o castigar. dc.description	Este texto habla de las tensiones y discrepancias de la jurisdicción ordinaria respecto a la jurisdicción especial indígena, la cual fue reconocida por el Estado colombiano —a través de la Constitución Política de 1991— como las formas propias de configurar, administrar y aplicar justicia en los diversos contextos indígenas del país. El autor nos invita a profundizar en los significados de las prácticas ancestrales de aplicar justicia, sus fortalezas y debilidades, los momentos de interacción con la justicia ordinaria y los conflictos con la justicia militar, para que avancemos hacia una relación de mayor respeto y comprensión de la vida organizativa de las comunidades.Cómo citar este artículo: Velasco Sánchez, Nelson Marino, "Equilibrar o castigar.
