| dc.description | The purpose of this research was to establish the contribution of the multiple semiotic modes used by students learning the Pascal's Principle. This was done through the characterization of different semiotic modes: gestural-oral, visual, and written language. Following a descriptive qualitative research approach, the function of the different languages was identified through a semiotic analysis. Intervention process was done with a work unit consisting of three main moments: 1) pre-test to investigate previous ideas, 2) experimental activities to observe the use of different semiotic modes, and 3) post-test. The analysis of the information and discussions is presented through an in-depth case study of two students. Among the results, there is a powerful interaction between gestural-oral, visual, and written language and its contribution to the creation of meanings. In addition, the use of tangible and visual resources such as the model and the incorporation of situations closer to the students allowed them to strengthen the use of different modes to communicate their understanding of the matter. | dc.description | Esta investigación tuvo como objetivo establecer el aporte de los múltiples lenguajes que emplean los estudiantes durante el aprendizaje del principio de Pascal. Se llevó a cabo a través de la caracterización de diferentes modos semióticos: lenguaje gestual-oral, visual y escrito. Se empleó un enfoque de investigación cualitativa de corte descriptivo y se identificó la función de los diferentes lenguajes a través de un análisis semiótico. El proceso de intervención se realizó a través de una unidad didáctica compuesta por tres momentos: 1) prueba diagnóstica de las ideas previas, 2) situaciones experimentales que demandaban el uso de diferentes modos semióticos y 3) prueba de diagnóstico final. El proceso de análisis de la información y las discusiones se presenta a través de un estudio de caso en profundidad de dos estudiantes. Dentro de los resultados más importantes se encuentra la potente interacción entre el lenguaje gestual-oral, visual y escrito y su contribución a la creación de significados. Además, el uso de recursos palpables y visuales como la maqueta y la incorporación de situaciones comunes al estudiante potencializó en los estudiantes el uso de diferentes modos con el fin de comunicar sus comprensiones frente a la temática. El lenguaje gestual-oral fue el lenguaje que más nos acercó al proceso de aprendizaje de los estudiantes. | es-ES |
