This study aimed to design, build and validate a test that measures motivation to work in companies in the city of Bogotá, realizing levels of validity and confiability. For this reason the test -ML- is built using a methodological investigation. The test possess a validation of content for expert judges of 94 % and a confiability of 92 %, in addition to 11 scales that were constructed from the 385 workers to whom was apply the test in the last phase. This instrument has 59 items divided into 2 big Variables: Intrinsic Motivation with a total of 43 items, divided into 4 sub-variables: power (11 items), Achievement (13 items), Affiliation-Intimity (9 items), and Progress-growth (10 items), and the variable Auto-competition with a total of 16 items, divided into two sub-variables: Persistent (8 items) and situational (8 items).El presente estudio tuvo como objetivo diseñar, construir y validar un cuestionario que permita evaluar motivación laboral en trabajadores de empresas formales de la ciudad de Bogotá D.C. Por tal motivo se construyó el instrumento de Motivación Laboral –ML- recurriendo a la investigación metodológica. La prueba posee una validación de contenido por jueces expertos de 94% y una confiabilidad de 92%, adicional a esto se construyeron 11 baremos a partir de los 385 trabajadores a quienes se les aplicó el instrumento en su última fase. Este instrumento cuenta con 59 ítems distribuidos en 2 grandes Variables: Motivación Intrínseca con un total de 43 ítems, divididos en 4 sub-variables: Poder (11 ítems), Logro (13 ítems), Afiliación- Intimidad (9 ítems) y Progreso- Crecimiento (10 Ítems), y la Variable Autocompetencia con un total de 16 ítems, distribuidos en dos sub-variables: Persistente (8 ítems) y Situacional (8 ítems).
