dc.description	The aim of this study was to identify the relationship between structural characteristics and social support in personal networks of women affected by domestic violence. We evaluated a sample of 19 women through the implementation of the Arizona Social Support Interview Schedule assessing the emotional, informative and tangible support types regarding the quantitative aspects of networks (size, composition, structure). Data were analyzed with Student’s t and Pearson correlation coefficients. Small formed networks were identified primarily by family and close friends, with frequent interactions, but little evidence of social support. Most sources of support were obtained from close friends. It can be concluded that battered women have small networks that offer low levels of support compared to the expected support by participants.	en-US
dc.description	El objetivo de este estudio fue identificar la relación entre las características estructurales y el apoyo social en redes personales de mujeres afectadas por violencia doméstica. Se examinó una muestra de 19 mujeres mediante la aplicación del Arizona Social Support Interview Schedule evaluando los tipos de apoyo emocional, informativo y tangible en relación a los aspectos cuantitativos de las redes (tamaño, composición, estructura). Los datos se analizaron aplicando la t de Student y el coeficiente de correlación de Pearson. Se identificaron redes pequeñas conformadas primordialmente por familiares y amistades cercanas, con interacciones frecuentes pero escasas muestras de apoyo social. La mayor cantidad de recursos de apoyo se obtuvo de las amistades cercanas. Se puede concluir que las mujeres maltratadas cuentan con redes reducidas que ofrecen bajos niveles de soporte en comparación a la ayuda esperada por las participantes.	es-ES
