dc.description	In the Andean area the coca/cocaine complex has won a significant economic and political weight. Because of that the discussion is not free of distorting factors, like political interests. The drug legalization, which is supported by an increasing number of known personalities, is akin to neoliberal philosophy and individualist morality. This position is also shared by postmodernist conceptions. What the coca producers really desire is something that they cannot openly utter: the maintenance of the present situation, which is characterized by a rhetorical condemnation and a legal prohibition and, at the same time, by the effective tolerance vis-à-vis the production and commercialization of coca and its by-products.	en-US
dc.description	En el área andina el complejo coca/cocaína ha adquirido un enorme peso económico y político. Por ello la discusión no puede estar exenta de factores distorsionantes, como los intereses políticos. La legalización de las drogas, propugnada por un número creciente de personalidades, se aviene con la filosofía neoliberal y con la moral individualista. Esta posición tiene un fuerte asidero en las concepciones postmodernistas. Pero en realidad lo que anhelan los productores de coca es algo que no pueden decirlo abiertamente: la preservación del actual estado de cosas, caracterizado por la condena retórica y la prohibición formal-legal y simultáneamente, por la tolerancia fáctica de la producción y comercialización de la coca y sus derivados.	es-ES
