This article proposes an approach to the symbolic aspects of the normative transformation in the labor relations of the domestic service, through an analysis of the legislative debate preceding the Special Regime for Personnel of Private Houses (law 26844). The hypothesis of an incomplete representation is proposed, given by the majority identification of the legislators with the role of employers, identified through their own self-declaration as well as the manifest empathy with said subject Without ignoring the advances implied by the sanction of the aforementioned Law in terms of recognition of rights, the debate expresses the Regime to sanction as a right that is granted and not as one that is conquered. This put the workers in a place of scarce political agency, reinforced by the absence of representatives among the legislators. We will observe the discursive framework that sustains the inequalities between employers and employees, and the particularities recognized to employers, to the detriment of the rights of the workers and with an indirect socialization of the cost of hiring.En este artículo se propone una aproximación a los aspectos simbólicos de la transformación normativa en las relaciones laborales del servicio doméstico, a través de un análisis del debate legislativo precedente al Régimen Especial para el Personal de Casas Particulares (ley 26844).  Se plantea la hipótesis de una representatividad incompleta, dada por la identificación mayoritaria de las y los legisladores con el rol de empleadores, identificada a través de su propia autodeclaración así como de la manifiesta empatía con dicho sujeto Sin desconocer los avances que implicó la sanción de la citada Ley en términos de reconocimiento de derechos, en el debate se expresa el Régimen a sancionar como un derecho que se otorga y no como uno que se conquista. Ello ubica a las trabajadoras en un lugar de escasa agencia política, reforzado por la ausencia de representantes entre los legisladores. Observaremos el entramado discursivo que sostiene las desigualdades entre empleadores y empleadas, y las particularidades reconocidas a los empleadores, en desmedro de los derechos de las trabajadoras y con una socialización indirecta del costo de contratación.
