| dc.description | This article analyzes the December2007 Venezuelan referendum aspart of the ongoing process of socialtransformations in the country. Afterpresenting the key constitutional reformssupporting Chavez’s socialistproject and the oppositional groups’attempts for military intervention, thecauses and consequences of the electoraldefeat are discussed.
