dc.description	This work investigated the social construction of ebola in the Brazilian press using the Theory of Social Representations. Data were collected in the Folha de São Paulo, since the virus emergence (1976) until March 2015. We found 291 subjects analyzed by IRAMUTEQ software. The results show lexical worlds organized in speech specialist and speech no specialist. The first translates the scientific explanatory hypotheses about the Ebola virus. Already second points to the dichotomy West versus Africa. The results demonstrate that the crisis of the Ebola renews the themata of social recognition by the negative, the essentialization of the African, radical alterity, cultural hierarchy and the invisibility of the African as protagonist habile to speak of its reality.	en-US
dc.description	Este artigo investigou a construção social da/o ebola via imprensa brasileira à luz da Teoria das Representações Sociais. Os dados foram coletados na Folha de São Paulo, desde o surgimento do vírus (1976) até março de 2015. Foram analisadas 291 matérias, por meio do software IRAMUTEQ. Os resultados mostram mundos léxicos organizados em torno dos discursos especialista e não especialista. O primeiro traduz as hipóteses científicas explicativas sobre o vírus do ebola. Já segundo aponta para a dicotomia ocidente versus África. Os resultados demonstram que a crise da ebola reatualiza a themata do reconhecimento social pela negativa, o essencialismo do africano, alteridade radical, hierarquização cultural e a invisibilidade do africano como protagonista apto a falar de sua realidade.	pt-BR
