dc.description	In this paper I wish to demonstrate how research can illuminate practice and inform curriculum and teachingdecisions. I shall draw attention to three areas where I believe research contributes to the development of music education. These are: assessment of the musical work of students, the evaluation of curriculum activities, the relationship between music in schools and music beyond the school gate.	en-US
dc.description	En este trabajo deseo demostrar cómo la investigación puede iluminar la práctica e informar las decisiones del plan de estudios y de la enseñanza. Voy a llamar la atención sobre tres áreas en las que creo que la investigación contribuye al desarrollo de la educación musical. Estas son: evaluación del trabajo musical de los estudiantes, evaluación de las actividades curriculares, relación entre la música en las escuelas y la música más allá de la puerta de la escuela.	es-ES
