dc.description When applying information and communication technologies (ICT), their potential transforms the environments of teaching and learning, which allows the creation of virtual learning environments (VLE), with non-traditional methodological approaches that flow from individual to collaborative learning , and from the transmission to the construction of knowledge. In these environments the role of the tutor is crucial to the success of the training activity focused on the student. This article provides an overview of the role in VLE, the areas of their actions and the qualities required.
