| dc.description | El propósito del presente trabajo es determinar la actitud de los hablantes frente al mazateco en relación con el español. Para esto, se analizaron los factores sociales que actualmente podrían influir en la desaparición del mazateco. Los datos para el análisis proceden de entrevistas realizadas los días 16 y 17 de marzo de 2012: se concluyó que los hablantes del mazateco mantienen una actitud de defensa hacia su lengua originaria, sin que ello implique rechazar al español como lengua oficial. Abstract: The purpose of the present paper is to determine the attitude of the speakers towards Mazatec in relation to Spanish. To do this, we analyzed the social factors that currently could influence the possible disapperance of the mazatec The data for the study comes from interviews conducted on the 16th and 17th of March of 2012. We concluded that Mazatec speakers maintain an attitude of preservation towards their native language, with-out rejecting spanish as the official language.
