| dc.description | Durante los últimos años del siglo diecinueve y las primeras décadas del veinte se manifestó, entre médicos y abogados, el anhelo por encontrar la solución de los problemas que provocaban la incontrolable expansión de la sífilis y la gonorrea. En este artículo se hace un examen transversal del avance de la ciencia médica, de las modificaciones de la legislación sanitaria y de las reacciones sociales frente al estigma por ese tipo de esas infecciones, con la intención de mostrar la tensión social que provocó la redefinición del deber profesional del médico para su control y su erradicación. | - |
