| Descripción : | This article discusses the characteristics of the stages in Jalisco's process of democratization, in order to contribute to an understanding of the problems in consolidating democracy nationally. I consider what has happened in state governments to be fundamental in understanding the dynamic of the national processes. This article profiles the direction of the social processes and the institutional change at the level of the state political system, and asks whether there is evidence of advancement in the democratization process or whether stagnation and retrogression have been predominant in Jalisco. |
