| Descripción : | This article is theoretical in approach, using Buenos Aires as an example to describe the processes of urban sprawl and fragmentation. A new reality is marked by the presence of nonresidential urban areas that form "islands" of tertiary activity: they overlay their environment but are not connected to it, thus tearing the socioterritorial fabric. Abasto, Villa del Parque, and Unicenter are given as examples of these dynamics. |
