Descripción :	Estuda-se a produção do espaço urbano de Araucária, à luzda industrialização ocorrida na década de 1970, cuja instauraçãoe concretização relaciona-se ao fenômeno de expansãodo capitalismo industrial e à desconcentração espacialdas indústrias dinâmicas no Brasil, e que se materializaramno município em 1972 com a implantação da REPAR. A partirdas relações entre industrialização e urbanização, estuda-sea reestruturação do seu espaço intra-urbano, marcada pelaconsolidação de uma nova centralidade e pela constituiçãode uma morfologia expandida e descontínua. Estes processossão aprofundados a partir das articulações existentesentre as transformações espaciais ocorridas nas escalas locale metropolitana, manifestadas no espaço pelo surgimentode novas relações entre centro e periferia. This research aims to study the dynamics of the urban spaceproduction in Araucária, light of the industrial developmentthat occurred in the 1970´s. The instauration and concretizationof the process is related with the phenomena of the expansionof the industrial capitalism. As well as the lack of specialconcentration in the dynamic industries in Brazil, whichmaterialized in the town in the year of 1972, with theimplantation of Petrobras Petroleum Getúlio Vargas Refinery.From the derived relations of the industrialization andurbanization process, we analyze the dynamics of therestructuring of the intra-urban space, characterized by theconsolidation of new centers, and by the constitution of amorphology set by the expansion and discontinuity of the urbantissue. These processes are deepened having as basis theexisting articulation between the spatial transformations thathappened in a local and metropolitan scale, manifested inspace through the emergency of new relations betweendowntown and the periphery.
