| Descripción : | The changes imposed by the "new" society that grows starting from the decade of 1970 strengthen the category space and territory in the investigation and in the planning in health. The historical approach between the Epidemiology and the Geography gets new pulse through the proportionate progresses for the call "Critical Geography". Countless contributions are given for the important debate about the Geography of the Health in Brazil, among them geographer Milton Santos extensive work, whose author will be discussed in the present article. Although he doesn't have dedicated directly to the theme, this author got to influence a great amount of researchers that worry about the space subjects in health. Key-words: Milton Santos, Geography of the Health, territory and public health. As mudanças impostas pela “nova” sociedade que se desenvolve a partir da década de 1970 fortalecem a categoria espaço e território na investigação e no planejamento em saúde. A histórica aproximação entre a Epidemiologia e a Geografia ganha novo impulso através dos avanços proporcionados pela chamada “Geografia Crítica”. Inúmeras contribuições são dadas para o importante debate sobre a Geografia da Saúde no Brasil, entre elas a extensa obra do geógrafo Milton Santos, cujo autor será discutido no presente artigo. Embora não tenha se dedicado diretamente ao tema, este autor conseguiu influenciar uma grande quantidade de pesquisadores que se preocupam com as questões espaciais em saúde.
