Descripción :	The present work has as proposal to analyze the cultural heritage, understood as being material, incorporeal and natural, existing in the territory of the District of Rincão de Cruz, city of Pelotas/RS, that, refuncionalized for the tourist demand, ingredients in the construction of proposals of local development constitute. Equally, to verify mechanisms of organization, planning and management of the tourist territory for the public power and the local initiatives of the inhabitants of the rural area, from a quarrel where the proper inhabitants of the rural community are the promoters of the tourist activities in the place. In regards to theoretical production, it is intended to carry through a reflection on cultural heritage and tourism in rural communities, searching to contribute with a geographic boarding of the thematic one. O presente trabalho tem como proposta analisar o patrimônio cultural, entendido como sendo material, imaterial e natural, existente no território do Distrito de Rincão da Cruz, município de Pelotas/RS, que, refuncionalizado para a demanda turística, constituam ingredientes na construção de propostas de desenvolvimento local. Igualmente, verificar mecanismos de organização, planejamento e gestão do território turístico pelo poder público e pelas iniciativas locais dos habitantes da área rural, a partir de uma discussão em que os próprios habitantes da comunidade rural sejam os promotores das atividades turísticas no lugar. No tocante a produção teórica, pretende-se realizar uma reflexão sobre patrimônio cultural e turismo em comunidades rurais, buscando contribuir com uma abordagem geográfica da temática.
